When patients ask me why I became an osteopath, my answer is simple: "Since I was a child, I've always loved fixing things." It really is that straightforward. It started as a small seed planted in childhood, which later sprouted into a teenage side hustle repairing friends' phones and game consoles.
But my true calling crystallised during a pivotal encounter with my first osteopath. I had been suffering from leg pains for a year. My GP kept telling me to stop playing sports, one month, two months, with no improvement. So, reluctantly, I went to see an osteopath, without much hope. He was the first one to actually touch where it hurt. He ran some tests, gave me a precise diagnosis, and, most importantly, explained why I had ended up in this situation. It was a revelation. I realised I wanted to do the same: fix people and explain the root cause of their pain.
From the French Riviera to Zürich
My training taught me the mechanics of the body, but my years of practice taught me something even more important: how to listen and understand patients.
For eight years, I practiced on the French Riviera, near Monaco. It was a vibrant, international environment where I met people from all walks of life. Every person who walked through my door taught me something new. I learned that while the body's mechanics are universal, every patient's story is unique. There is no single "correct" way to treat everyone; there is only the right approach for you, in your specific situation.
So, why Zurich? Simply put, I was ready for a new chapter. I wanted to step out of my comfort zone, immerse myself in a new culture, and continue learning. Moving to German-speaking Switzerland was a personal challenge, a way to grow both as a person and as a practitioner. I am here to listen to your stories, understand your needs, and integrate into this community with humility and dedication. I may still be learning the local dialect, but my commitment to caring for you is absolute.
The Body as a Complex Machine
The human body is a marvel of engineering. For a simple movement like walking, dozens of bones, hundreds of muscles, ligaments, and tendons, along with meters of blood vessels, must work in perfect harmony. Everything has a purpose, a synergy. It's a complex system, and it's no surprise that modern life (stress, long hours at a desk, or sports injuries) can sometimes throw it off balance.
My role is to work with you to find some answers to your concerns. I strongly believe that healing starts with understanding. If you don't know why something hurts, it's hard to feel confident about doing things you want to do on a daily basis. That's why I take the time to explain what I find, in simple terms, so we can make sense of your pain together.
We will work together to create a plan that fits your life and your goals. Whether you want to get back to running, play with your kids without wincing, or just get through the workday comfortably, we will take it step by step.
I would be happy to welcome you at Osteopathie Seebach. Come by, let's get to know each other, and see how we can help you feel a little bit better today.
